Forget the smell of pines,
the taste of jam,
the words,
the color of your eyes.
Forget the images,
the rocks,
the noise of wind
and waves.
Being there.
And being alone.

4173 km to highlight our ability to interrogate, understand, propose, criticize, raise awareness.
4173 km to question and discover, to look for new ways of telling, to suggest, to act...
4173 km to become aware of the plurality of ideas, stories and identities.
We are visual and performance artists and we have been working together since 2010 as RED BIND, a research initiated around the notion of link/bond. Indeed, our meeting immediately raised various questions regarding the place of each one of us within the entity we were building, regarding the tenuous boundary that exists between what we give to see and who we truly are, between the acceptable and/or condoned distance standing in between beings.
This research inexorably raises many paradoxes, around which we keep pondering : how far can we make an intrusion into a personal space that does not belong to us, without it being perceived as a threat ? How close can we approach the public ? How to ensure the synchronization of desires when language is lacking ?
By building some links/bonds in biased or impossible situations, our experimentation takes the form of an act of resistance.

4173 km qui mettent en exergue notre capacité à interroger, comprendre, proposer, critiquer, sensibiliser.
4173 km pour questionner et découvrir, rechercher de nouvelles façons de raconter, de proposer, d'agir...
4173 km pour prendre conscience de la pluralité des idées, des histoires et des identités.
Nous sommes artistes plasticiennes et performeuses, et nous fonctionnons ensemble sous le nom de RED BIND, recherche que nous avons initiée en 2010 autour de la notion de lien. Notre rencontre a en effet immédiatement soulevé diverses interrogations quant à la place de chacune au sein de l’entité que nous étions en train de construire, à la frontière ténue existant entre ce que nous donnons à voir et qui nous sommes vraiment, entre la distance acceptable et/ou tolérée qui sépare les êtres.
Inexorablement, cette recherche soulève de nombreux paradoxes, autour desquels nous ne cessons de nous interroger : jusqu’où pouvons-nous faire intrusion dans un espace personnel qui ne nous appartient pas, sans pour autant que cela soit vécu comme une effraction ? Jusqu’où pouvons-nous approcher le public ? Comment s’assurer de la synchronisation des désirs lorsque le langage fait défaut ?
En construisant du lien dans des situations biaisées ou impossibles, notre expérimentation prend la forme d’un acte de résistance.
